Lucas Fettes Norfolk Cricket League Annual Awards Dinner
The evening of Friday 16th October 2009 saw the annual awards and dinner presentation night for the Lucas Fettes & Partners sponsored Norfolk Cricket League.
Lucas Fettes have been proud sponsors of the league for the last two seasons. The league consists of 80 teams, split into 8 divisions, with fixtures played each Saturday from the start of May until the end of August.
The awards night was the culmination of a fine season of close competitive cricket and over 220 cricketers, partners and officials enjoyed a pleasant evening, where 39 awards recognised fine individual and team performances.
The evening commenced with Alan Harris (NCL Chairman) paying tribute to absent friends, namely Tony Gregory (Drayton CC), Ron Dobie (Aldborough CC) and Monty Montague (St Andrews CC) for their service and dedication to the league. His toast was echoed by everyone who fittingly stood to applaud their appreciation to these fine servants, who will be sadly missed.
Mark Brown (Director of Financial Services, Lucas Fettes & Partners) presented the awards and he congratulated everyone for their fine performances. Mark also recognised the hard work of all volunteers associated with the league and said “supporting local sport and arts is very important to Lucas Fettes & Partners and a major part of this is seen with our sponsorship of the Norfolk Cricket League". Jon Cooke, Norfolk Cricket League Vice-Chairman commented "it is great to see so many people attending this year’s dinner. I think this proves how robust and popular the Norfolk Cricket League is, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their valued and continued support in helping to achieve this".
Lucas Fettes commitment to supporting local sport and arts was further enhanced with the announcement that all clubs in the cricket league will receive further support for the forthcoming 2010 season, which will include a set of Lucas Fettes branded stumps.
