History

Lucas Fettes is an independent Group of Companies founded in 1980 by Robin Lucas and David Fettes.

The original ethos of the Founding Directors remains a constant today throughout the Company, with an emphasis on service and ‘putting the client first'. The Company has developed through its relationships with other professional practices, concentrating on the provision of solutions to the needs of both Corporate and Personal clients.

With the head office in London's west end, the first branch office was opened in Manchester, and this was subsequently followed by Southampton. There are now eleven offices offering a holistic range of services and advice on Commercial General Insurances, Personal Insurances and a full spectrum of Financial Services from Employee Benefits, Pensions, Mortgages and Investment to Inheritance Tax Planning and wealth and liability protection. The Company offers Wholesale broking services, access to the savings available through large Schemes for affinity groups such as Hoteliers and Retailers and access to a Wealth Management Company in which Lucas Fettes & Partners has made a substantial investment.

The Company prides itself on the long term nature of its relationships with Clients, its staff, many of whom have been with the Company for many years, and with Underwriters, an important component in any relationship profile for an Insurance Broker trying to deliver good value and good faith to Clients. The Directors have always believed in the value of long term loyalty to those with whom it has contact, whether that be Client, Employee or Insurer, and this belief has on many occasions proved to be invaluable.

With 200 staff and countrywide representation, the Company is well positioned to absorb and benefit from the changes that are taking place in the way Insurance and Financial Services are delivered in the United Kingdom. A programme of continuing investment in technology, trained staff and compliant procedures are designed to deliver a service that meets our clients' understandably demanding expectations.
